From Dirty Fossil Fuels to Clean Renewable Energy

Los Angeles County is in the early stages of what the industry plans to be many years of extreme industrial methods of oil production. Hydraulic fracturing, acidizing, and related activities impose numerous unacceptable risks to the health and safety of people who live and work in Los Angeles County. It is extremely important to note that fracking impacts low income Californians and people of color disproportionally, resulting in cumulative health impacts to communities already suffering from environmental toxins.

Much of the information presented here is drawn from studies done on fracking around the country.
